Registration for excise tax in connection with production, import and/or wholesale of alcoholic beverages

All businesses that wish to produce, import, or engage in the wholesale of alcoholic beverages are required to be registered.

Who should use this form?

Enterprises that intend to apply for registration for the production, import, or wholesale of alcoholic beverages.

What should I attatch?

This must be documented and provided in the application:

"    Licence if you intend to produce alcohol
"    Police certificate of good conduct
"    Description of the premises
"    Type of goods
"    Packaging return scheme
"    Calculation of expected excise duty
"    Time of registration

On the Norwegian Tax Administration's website, you will find a step-by-step application to register as a business liable for excise duties.

Processing deadlines:

The application process normally takes up to 4 weeks. It may be faster if you have provided a thorough description and documentation from the outset. It may also take longer if, for example, you need to obtain a bank guarantee.

Fee:

There is no fee for applying to register a business as liable for excise duties.
 
Right of appeal:

You have the right to appeal a registration decision in accordance with the rules in Chapter 13 of the Tax Administration Act
